Seatubes 1.1.7 – Makes downloading YouTube files easy. (Demo)
Posted by: | CommentsSeatubes 1.1.7 – Makes downloading YouTube files easy. (Demo): “
Seatubes makes it easy to batch download YouTube videos to your Mac. Simply drag YouTube URLs into a documents list view, then click the ‘Download’ button. If a URL is a video URL it will be added, otherwise Seatubes will try to add all of the video URLs it contains, i.e. import the URL.
Seatubes is a multi-window (or multi-document) application. You can associate different windows with independent collections of videos, and save them to disk as Seatubes documents for future use.
Seatubes can convert (export) downloaded FLV files into any format supported by QuickTime, such as iPod or iPhone. To do this, or to view FLV files on your Mac, you need to install the Perian Quicktime components (http://perian.org/)
Seatubes is part of the Limit Point Software Utilities Bundle : http://www.limit-point.com/Utilities.html. Purchase a Utilities password to activate all the utilities, including Seatubes. Upgrades are always free, new utilities are always included!
Seatubes initially runs for about ten days without a permanent password.

Boredoms vs Cai Guo-Chiang Explosion: “future rockers Boredoms played last night at Terminal 5, and it was absolutely amazing. I wrote about their (also absolutely amazing) 77BOADRUM event in these pages this summer, but I think it’s worthy to write about last night’s concert because, well, every time they play is an…absolutely amazing and inspiring event.”

Clinton Says Sleep Deprivation Caused Her Bosnia Lie
Posted by: | CommentsThe Daily Dish | By Andrew Sullivan: “‘I Was Sleep-Deprived’
25 Mar 2008 03:03 pm
That’s Clinton’s latest way of not being able to admit an error of memory or a lie. Was she also sleep-deprived in February when she made exactly the same claim? This this:
Occasionally, I am a human being like everybody else… For the first time in 12 or so years I misspoke.
Occasionally, I am a human being like everybody else. This is close to clinical delusions of grandeur. Does she really think that most of the time she is above being human? Do you know any human being who hasn’t misspoken in the last twelve years once? Or would ever claim such a thing? I sure couldn’t. And this from a candidate whose most famous campaign ad rests on her ability to make national security judgments at 3 am!”

Indian Blackberry network given 15 days to allow government snooping or shut down
Posted by: | CommentsIndian Blackberry network given 15 days to allow government snooping or shut down: “
Filed under: Cellphones
The last we’d heard, the Indian government had ruled out the threat of a Blackberry ban if RIM didn’t allow it to snoop on messages, but it looks like some overzealous bureaucrat is getting his way after all: the Department of Telecom has issued a 15-day deadline for RIM to either open up for the G-men or get shut down. RIM says it won’t comment on regulatory issues as a matter of policy, but it looks like the Indian government is playing hardball, with Telecom Minister A Raja saying that national security will not be sacrificed at any cost. Hmm, hear that? That’s the sound of over 400,000 Indian Blackberry users desperately grabbing at their devices to get another quick fix — something tells us this isn’t going to end well.

Hypnotist thief on video
Posted by: | CommentsHypnotist thief on video: “Italian police released video of a thief who allegedly hypnotizes clerks at supermarket registers. From the BBC News:
In every case, the last thing staff reportedly remember is the thief leaning over and saying: ‘Look into my eyes’, before finding the till empty…
The cashier who was shown the video footage has no memory of the incident, according to Italian media, and only realised what had happened when she saw the money missing.

Tim Leary’s Mind Mirror
Posted by: | Comments“
This classic DOS app was brought to our attention by Joonas, and to give you a basic idea of what it’s all about, here’s the summary from the download page:
The one and only computer simulation designed by Timothy Leary, one of the world’s leading psychologists, is an interesting program that lets you rate any person, then map the results and evaluate them. Part game, part tool, and part philosopher on a disk, Mind Mirror is a fun party game similar to Scruples! that will reveal some surprising conclusions about your family and acquaintances. The ‘Life Simulation’ mode is interesting, albeit giving you only a passive role.
True to Leary’s character, Mind Mirror is one of the most unique games/programs you’ll ever come across. While it doesn’t offer much adrenaline rush, its emphasis on real-life issues gives great insight — for both your life and the philosophy of Leary himself. Two thumbs up!

A few weeks back at ETech, I was hanging out with Phillip Torrone who was sporting his ‘Guardian Angel’ bag by Vlieger & Vandam that is embossed with the shape of a gun. Here’s a photo of Violet Blue modeling Phil’s bag.
They also make bags embossed with knives and Dachshund shaped bags.
David Pescovitz noticed the bag as well and posted about it on Boing Boing.
