Artist, Christian Faur, uses wax crayons to create a new kind of painting | Mail Online: “At first glance these pictures look like nothing more than pixelated photographs but closer inspection reveals the images are actually created using thousands of wax crayons.
Bored with paint and pencils, inventive artist, Christian Faur, turned to the childhood favourite for inspiration after seeing his young daughter using them.
Christian, from Granville, USA, starts each piece by scanning a photograph and breaking the image down into coloured blocks.”

This Week In Dallas Music History: The Vas Deferens Organization is Not For Everyone – Dallas Music – DC9 At Night: “?In this edition of This Week In Dallas Music History, former Observer music writer Matt Weitz wrote a 1996 piece on the Vas Deferens Organization — an avant garde music collective that engineered recordings so strange, they made Ariel Pink sound like The Beatles.
Interestingly enough, though, it was because of an Ariel Pink recording in Dallas this year that we featured the Vas Deferens Organization in a story about Dennis, Aaron, and Stefan Gonzalez — a local jazz family that connected with Pink because of their relationship with members of the VDO.
Pink isn’t the only high profile artist with connection to VDO, though. This piece features an interesting story of how VDO members Eric Lumbleau and Matt Castille tricked members of Medicine and Mercury Rev into recording on a project called Transcontinental Conspiracy. “

BERWICK, Louisiana (WVLA) – A deer hunter captures a spooky image wandering through the Louisiana woods at night.
A hunter near Baton Rouge says he found this freaky photo on his deer stand camera.
The hunting camera was broken but the memory card was still there and so was this bizarre image.
It looks like a cross between a human and an animal, with long slender appendages and glowing eyes.
The hunter says he just hopes it’s a vegetarian, if he runs into it in the woods again.
Some say it’s a hoax because they have found the same picture with two different dates about a week apart.
But whether you believe its real or not, it’s certainly an eerie image.”

Rape victim arrested for refusing TSA pat down | Raw Story: “A 56-year-old woman who says she is a rape victim was arrested and banned from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Wednesday after refusing to receive a pat down from a Transportation Security Agency (TSA) officer.
Claire Hirschkind could not receive a body scan because of a pacemaker-type device in her chest and was escorted to a female TSA officer to receive an enhanced pat down.
‘I told them, ‘No, I’m not going to have my breasts felt,’ and she said, ‘Yes, you are,” Hirschkind told KVUE.
After refusing to receive the enhanced pat down, she was arrested.”
