The way it proceeded was quite instructive to me and I want to make four observations about the discussion:

(1) Over the last month, I’ve done many television and radio segments about WikiLeaks and what always strikes me is how indistinguishable — identical — are the political figures and the journalists.  There’s just no difference in how they think, what their values and priorities are, how completely they’ve ingested and how eagerly they recite the same anti-WikiLeaks, ‘Assange = Saddam’ script.  So absolute is the WikiLeaks-is-Evil bipartisan orthodoxy among the Beltway political and media class (forever cemented by the joint Biden/McConnell decree that Assange is a ‘high-tech Terrorist,’) that you’re viewed as being from another planet if you don’t spout it.  It’s the equivalent of questioning Saddam’s WMD stockpile in early 2003.”

Eerie Image Captured in Woods: “Deer stand camera snaps bizarre animal

BERWICK, Louisiana (WVLA) – A deer hunter captures a spooky image wandering through the Louisiana woods at night.

A hunter near Baton Rouge says he found this freaky photo on his deer stand camera.

The hunting camera was broken but the memory card was still there and so was this bizarre image.

It looks like a cross between a human and an animal, with long slender appendages and glowing eyes.

The hunter says he just hopes it’s a vegetarian, if he runs into it in the woods again.

Some say it’s a hoax because they have found the same picture with two different dates about a week apart.

But whether you believe its real or not, it’s certainly an eerie image.”

 

Rape victim arrested for refusing TSA pat down | Raw Story: “A 56-year-old woman who says she is a rape victim was arrested and banned from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport Wednesday after refusing to receive a pat down from a Transportation Security Agency (TSA) officer.

Claire Hirschkind could not receive a body scan because of a pacemaker-type device in her chest and was escorted to a female TSA officer to receive an enhanced pat down.

‘I told them, ‘No, I’m not going to have my breasts felt,’ and she said, ‘Yes, you are,” Hirschkind told KVUE.

After refusing to receive the enhanced pat down, she was arrested.”

Judge finds ‘increasing’ difficulty in seating marijuana juries | Raw Story: “It’s becoming more and more difficult to find juries that will produce a guilty verdict in marijuana cases, according to a judge in Missoula County, Montana.

‘I think it’s going to become increasingly difficult to seat a jury in marijuana cases, at least the ones involving a small amount,’ District Judge Dusty Deschamps said Friday after potential jurors refused to convict a Montana man for having a 1/16 of an ounce of Marijuana.

An April 23 search of Touray Cornell’s home found several used marijuana joints, a pipe, and some residue. He’s is also charged with the criminal distribution of dangerous drugs.

Cornell’s neighbors had called the police because they thought he was selling drugs. The defendant admitted in an affidavit that he had distributed small amounts of marijuana.

One potential juror after another told the court that they would not convict the man for possessing a 1/16 of an ounce.

Deputy Missoula County Attorney Andrew Paul told the Associated Press that the jurors staged ‘a mutiny.'”
